There have been a few in the last year, Torres and even your own De Gea spring to mind.
De Gea does have time on his side but looking less than convincing thus far

De Gea atleast has showed his ability though, as had Torres who was a gamble on returning to form more than a daft signing. I think the problem with the Carroll buy was that Liverpool didn't have a replacement lined up for Torres leaving and so instead were forced into a rush decision on a bad player, and then got mugged on the price in the process. I see Dalglish is reportedly unhappy at City for leaking the swap deal details although Mancini is denying it all now. Strange one.

To be fair I'd probably stick De Gea upfront ahead of Andy anyway, although it would be useless pumping long balls and crosses into De Gea as he'd just miss them :lol

I don’t think Carroll is a bad player, it’s just he doesn’t have the right kind of game to fit into Liverpool way of playing.
As you say there is no getting away from the fact that he was a poor signing, Liverpool have to aspire to be more than a team that hoofs balls into the box in the hope of getting a fortuitous flick on and an opportunistic goal and let’s face it that’s all Carroll is going to offer you

Would love to see Gerrard, Carroll, and Suarez on the pitch together. Maybe Monday. :D

I think Caroll will improve with that too, but he really shouldn't need two players of that quality around him to be good, I would look ok withbSuarez and Gerrard supplying.

How about Carroll, Bellamy, Suarez, and the Captain on the pitch at once. I wonder if we could swing that?
