I am not sure on the current discussions but i was delighted with the news a while back that we would not be going to the olympic stadium. i speak to hammers fans when i go to the matches and all of them want to stay at upton park too and i so hope we dont leave. The olympic stadium will be horrible being so far away from the pitch as i like to be very close to the action.

Yep a nice small and compact stadium really allows you to soak up the atmosphere.

This is the reason I still don't believe Iron Hoof is a new member.

Can't think of a better way to wind Martin up than this, I find the restraint he is showing very strange here, I reckon he still thinks it is a wind up too.

Mark would you like it if Liverpool left and moved to a new stadium which you were far away from the pitch? i have spoken to other hammers fans about this and they say the athletics running track would still be at the stadium if we moved in. i have sat high up in the second level in the bobby moore stand before and i didnt enjoy it anywhere near as much as i do when down along the side of pitch in first 3 or 4 rows.

Let's move to a smaller stadium then, without the top tier, and let our 17,000 waiting list grow.

i dont mind having a big stadium but i want to sit on the side and close to the pitch. I only sat on the top tier as a one off a few years back. Is it true the athletics track will stay forever?

We're trying to get retractable seating, which is the deal breaker at the moment.

Oh ok, i never heard about that. that does sound a bit complicated tho. if there are seats on all of the athletics track will they all be at ground level otherwise the lower level of seating in the stadium wont be able to see?

New bigger stadiums are shite! They just have no character.

Gonna call it early. United are gonna win this. And you can quote me on it. This team is better without Ronaldo and its now starting to play. The European Cup will be Uniteds again.

How many have you been to? Huddersfield isn't what I call a big ground.

I'm not talking about moving to a 60k stadium, I'm talking whatever size when you increase capacity and move somewhere else. For example us moving into a 10k stadium.

Leicester, Coventry (no offence Spanky), Southampton, Swansea, Hull, Huddersfield, MK Dons (nothing to compare to though),

Those ones are the main ones that stand out. The first 3 are all basically the same and lack character. Hull and Huddersfield's stadiums had a bit of character to them and Swansea's atmosphere is good but still just a bowl. MK Dons isn't even finished yet.

The majority of new stadiums are crap due to the fact they are all the same.

Bit of thought and design and they can be quite good.
Reebok & Huddersfield for example.

I take it you would rather be at Highfield Road? I remember when we played you there in the FA Cup in 04 I believe and drew 1-1 in the 4th round. I couldn't make the game unfortunately but I remember there was an own goal and possibly Wayne Andrews scored for us. May be talking rubbish there! I was at the famous giant killing replay though when Rowan Vine got a hat-trick and Shaw at right back got molested by Craig Fagan. Aaah memories..

Actually I really miss Highbury, I'll always love that stadium. Despite the library tag whenever I went I found it to be atmospheric and full of history which I enjoyed. Mind you I do like my heritage and am not a great fan of most modern architecture so maybe I am not the best person to ask. Also circumstances dictate that I have only been to the new ground once which means I haven't really bonded with it as I did with Highbury.

And yes I know that moving was in the best interests of the club as a business in order to allow it to grow and become more profitable, but as a stadium I loved Highbury.

Is it going to be a football stadium after the Olympics have finished??? I'd be surprised if West ham aint keen on it, though their ability to fill it could be a stumbling block.
