"Di Canio is a **** and it still pains me to see him in a Celtic shirt" is one of the most laughable comments imagineable when Italian Fascism was just the Catholic Right Wing.

I like listening to Michael Jackson and James Brown without having to think of things beyond their music, despising watching a footballer because of things beyond football is pathetic.

:crackup

Oh dear. Again you make a point that's completely irrelevant to anything, in fact barely even makes sense. What's religion got to do with me disliking Di Canio due to his politics? And what's laughable about disliking someone who's politics couldn't possibly differ any further from my own, it's not rocket science as to why I didn't and wouldn't in the future want him anywhere near the club I support (a club where politics is very much part of the culture).

And pathetic nothing, I can still appreciate Di Canio as great football, which he was. Doesn't mean I want to cheer him on or support him every week.

Yet you are happy to cheer on Celtic. That's the hypocrisy, and that's what you don't understand. That's what I don't understand. I can differentiate Celtic from that, as can you apparently, but you can't with Di Canio.

The real reason is Di Canio left on bad terms. That's the only one that doesn't stink of hypocrisy and comedy.
My own opinion is enough for me, and I claim the right to have it defended against any consensus, any majority, anywhere, anyplace, anytime. And anyone who disagrees with this can pick a number, get in line and kiss my arse. - Christopher Hitchens

That I don't understand, please enlighten me all mighty one? :crackup

You should stick to speaking about stuff you know about. You can differentiate Celtic from what? You appear to be talking in riddles because you don't actually know what your talking about. And that's not to sound patronising like you tried to because I've read your posts in the past and I know your not naive or uneducated so please do, say what you mean....

Gonna call it early. United are gonna win this. And you can quote me on it. This team is better without Ronaldo and its now starting to play. The European Cup will be Uniteds again.

You can differentiate the associations with your club, but not differentiate Di Canio's associations.

That is hypocrisy.

I'm the complete opposite end of the spectrum from Fascism, but I don't think of Di Canio as a political figure. I don't think of football and politics. You seem to pick and choose when you do and when you don't.

When did I say I differentiated associations with my club? And what associations do you refer to, because again your speaking in riddles in order to somehow prove a point that doesn't make sense.

I don't see Di Canio as a political figure either but I don't like that a fascist played for the club I support, just the same way as I wouldn't want to be friends with one, play 5 a-sides with one, play a game of chess with one, just don't want to be associated with them, it's surely not difficult to grasp?

The things you don't talk about with friends is religion or politics, or you find yourself without friends. I have met, spoken, and talked to people whose views are the complete opposite of mine, and whose views i sometimes detest completely, doesn't mean I cannot have a game of pool with them.

I don't think we need to discuss Celtic's associations, just like we don't have to think too hard about Rangers, and just like we don't have to think too hard about Lazio's. But I do think you also lack an understanding of Fascism (with a capital F), and you think it is the same as Nazism. It isn't, not by a long way.

Really? People are different, I certainly wouldn't be friends with a fascist though but each to their own. As for religion, don't know why your insistent on bringing that up when that was never the discussion.

No, please do discuss the associations you mention because i'd love you to inform me!?

I know exactly what fascism is, what the ideology of fascism is and what fascists believe in, so again, you can take your patronising pish elsewhere. Although I may as well add that in this case (re. Di Canio and Lazio), the fascist views are very much relating to nazism......
