:liverpool v :spurs

An eyecatching Monday night fixture this one. Liverpool have done well against the bigger teams this season, not always getting the result their efforts deserved mind you. However Harry as Tottenham manager has a good record with 6 wins in 8 games in all competitions against the scousers. Tough one to call but I think spurs will get a point here 1-1.

Anything less than a win for Liverpool and they can kiss a top four position away.

Not that I ever thought that was on for them anyway

2-1 with Saha getting the winner.

Liverpool - Reina; Kelly, Skrtel, Agger, Johnson, Spearing, Adam, Gerrard, Kuyt, Bellamy, Carroll

Spurs - Friedel, Bale, Dawson, King, Walker, Assou-Ekotto, Parker, Livermore, Modric, Kranjcar, Adebayor

Fog is pretty thick at Anfield. Hopefully it doesn't get called off.

I like the fact that the cat is the only one to make it in to the Spurs box unmarked.

This hasn't been a good game so far. Spurs dropping further and further back at the time of writing (70m) - wouldn't be surprised to see a Liverpool winner.

Sounded awful on the radio but they seem to think that Liverpool should have had a penalty near the end

They had loads of appeals but put it this way - the TV didn't even show a replay. Not a hint of controversy about any of them.

Poor game. Spurs seemed content for the point in the second-half and Liverpool never looked like they'd break them down. So many wayward balls pumped forward from deep that drifted out of play - always the sign of a team lacking ideas (trust me, I watch Everton!).

I never saw the second half, but I've noticed Sky show considerably less replays these days and prefer to show players expressions which has been annoying me lately. There have been quite a few chances/points of interest which have not been replayed.

That'll do, with Chelsea and Liverpool dropping points the weekend turned out okay.

Liverpool really are in a pitiful position now, 11 points behind Spurs who are in 3rd (the top three is completely beyond them) and both Arsenal and Chelsea ahead of them and having better teams, a top four finish is now surely beyond them.

Remember at the beginning of the season the target set that would be the measure of success or failure was a top four finish, even the American owners were reported to have voiced the same claim.

Dalglish’s team have looked clueless against the so called weaker teams in the division, particularly at home at times. I still expect him to be in charge next season but after another disappointing season (which will surely be the case) he will no doubt step down my mutual consent with the Liverpool fans still believing he would have got it right if he was given just one more season.
