I wish sillysteven was here to contend this debate!

It is good to hear that from a Liverpool fan Mark after hearing so much BS about Kenny from other fans.

I can only see Mourinho going to Chelsea, United, or City, if he comes back to the PL.

Not sure how attractive a proposition Liverpool really are at the moment for a top top manager. From an outsiders perspective there appears to be a continuation of the mismanagement from previous regimes into the recent Dalglish era. Plenty of money has been spent, some wisely, but a lot pretty badly with Carroll at the moment being the stand out flop (maybe he'll turn it round but it isn't looking good at the moment). I'd be pretty confident that someone like Mourinho or even maybe O'Neill would have spent similar sums more wisely than has been the case under Dalglish. I'd say Wenger would too but he'd have just sat on the funds and sworn blind that no investment was necessary and everything was going well. Either way it appears that in order to challenge Liverpool need more astute investment in the squad, the question is who is the right manager to do that and will he be given the funds? How much more cash will the owners cough up?

We are in a not too different boat, I really am not sure we will attract a top class manager to follow Wenger if he does leave. The only thing for both clubs is how much, if at all, financial fair play will affect things. For the last few seasons, clubs with huge wealth or a sugar daddy where the manager can walk in and pretty much buy a whole new squad have been the biggest draw. Maybe with FFP a clubs reputation will start to count for something again.

I'm loving it that Liverpool fans are coming to admit that Dogleash just wont cut it. They have a good enough team to challenge Spurs for a top4 position. That's not to say that they should have spent their money better though.

As for the game, how the hell can you guys call that a shite game? I thought it was a terriffic 0-0. The only thing lackingwas the goals and there were enough chances for at least a couple of goals.

I know our 10mil strikeforce would have scored at least a couple :)

Does anyone remember when sections of the media, and some of their fans, had Liverpool down as potential title challengers this season? :rofl

It makes me laugh because for the money spent there really isn't a lot to shout about in their team (in fact there's pretty much nothing). They need to start looking over their shoulder too because with Sunderlands current form there could genuinely be a further drop coming for Liverpool.

The anti-Liverpool sentiments on this board are so over the top at times.

Liverpool have quality in every position but lack the quality manager to go with, in my opinion.

They will turn it round, sooner rather than later, no doubt about it.

You posted possibly the most damning comment about Liverpool in the whole thread (getting "shot of Dalglish in the morning" if Mourinho was available), so presumably you must have an anti-Liverpool sentiment too? Or are you just calling it as you see it like everyone else on here?

I would also kneecap Gerrard to get Messi, it doesn't mean that Gerrard isn't good enough. But the fact is we drew against a team who are third in the league and everyone is acting like it is a bad result.

i'm not happy with the result, but Spurs parked 10 behind the ball. An embarrassing performance for a team that thinks they are contenders.

I think Dalglish did a very good job last season. When you look at their points to games ratio it was one of the, if not the best, in the league. However, last season they played with no pressure. This season they've struggled withh teams playing defensively against them and even when not (Swansea outplaying them for example). Dalglish made some questionable buys and I think that can be his downfall. They've looked better with Gerrard back and you can see their is quality is there after watching their games with the top teams. At least Dalglish has the supporters backing, but it will be interesting to see if that continues.
