Cristiano Ronaldo is considering a stunning return to the Premier League after growling disillusioned with life at Real Madrid.
The Portuguese winger, 27, has reportedly told friends that his ‘dream’ move to the Spanish capital has turned sour.
Relations between Ronaldo and the Bernabeu crowd have worsened with many fans questioning his attitude.

Frustrated: Cristiano Ronaldo is considering leaving Real Madrid
Real are in pole position to wrestle the La Liga title away from Barcelona but that has done little to appease Ronaldo.
The star – who joined Real from Manchester United in an £80 million world record transfer in June 2009 – has confided to family and friends that he misses Old Trafford and his former manager Sir Alex Ferguson, who he regarded as a father figure and mentor.
If Ronaldo does leave Madrid, Manchester City would be among the favourites to snap him up.

Return: Ronaldo (right) could be set to re-join former club Manchester United
United meanwhile would be unable to splash out £80m but could be prepared to shatter their record outlay, the £30m they handed to Spurs for Bulgarian striker Dimitar Berbatov.
Jose Mourinho, Ronaldo’s boss at Real, could also be on his way back to England in the summer.

Speculation obviously but it does make you wonder with all the stories flooding out of Madrid in recent weeks. It amazes me how the Real fans can question Ronaldos attitude and get on his back. The mans scored 117 goals in 121 appearences. What else do they want him to do?

Do you think he'll ever return to the Premier League?

I would like to see him back here as he is pure quality but I really don't think it's gonna happen, like you say pure speculation.

However I think it may interest City who will no doubt enquire about his availability at some point.

Or maybe If Mourinho goes to Spurs in the summer he may request Ronaldo to join him?

I don't think Spurs can afford Mourinho never mind Ronaldo, wonder how much they would value Carroll at in an exchange, he is much younger after all.

If mourinho does make it back to the Premiership which seems almost a certainty i do believe that Ronaldo will be one of his targets right off the bat. I would like him to come back to the league but would cringe at him in say a Liverpool or Man City shirt.

From the moment he left us I always believed he would come back to us one day (and I think he has since come out and said he would love another spell with us before his career is over), I still really think he will. Wont be this summer, he's been jeered by Madrid fans a couple of times but I can't see him leaving just yet. One day he'll back in a United shirt though.

Madrid fans are nutters. How can they boo Mourinho when 7 points clear and how can they boo Ronaldo with all the goals he has scored?

It must be purely down to all the defeats to Barca. Ronaldo doesn't particularly perform against Barca but to be fair to him, it's not as if he gets much of the ball.

Gonna call it early. United are gonna win this. And you can quote me on it. This team is better without Ronaldo and its now starting to play. The European Cup will be Uniteds again.

He's done well in the last two games against them, but has been absent too often against them.

Ronaldo getting booed is absolutely absurd. He'll start scoring every week again and the fans will love him again. I can't see him going back to soon, but I think he will one day, the only question is whether it will be when he's past his best.

Things can change very quickly at Madrid and even if he wanted to leave I very much doubt they'd let him go after the amount they spent on him and the amount he's worth in revenue. If he was to go, United couldnt afford him and the only real contenders for his signature would be City and I'm not sure City would have any sort of appeal to Ronaldo to be honest.

I think he'll play for United again but a few years down the line and when he's past his peak.

If Madrid wanted their £80mil back could City actually buy him? (I doubt it) could anyone? the new fair play rules would have a big impact on that surely?. That's why I can't see him leaving just yet (plus I don't think he'll want to, Ronaldo has never been the kind of player who needs to feel loved by fans).

They would probably consider a swap for Tevez, Adebayor and Silva with a few quid to go with it though.

Has he ever been somewhere where the fans don't love him? His own fans have always adored him. He strikes me as someone who needs to feel loved, I think he cares too much about his image to be somewhere that fans do not like him..

As if we could afford him!

I cant stand the guy and while I'll admit he's a great player, I'd struggle to support him if he was wearing a Spurs shirt. I've supported Adebayor despite not being a fan of him but I just couldnt change my opinion of Ronaldo. Glad I wont have to.

He'll probably go to City if he goes anywhere but it wont happen for a couple more years.

It's different when plays for your team, you'd have no problem supporting him when he's tearing teams a part and scoring pretty much a goal a game :lol

He wouldn't go to Spurs though and as you say they couldn't afford him. I can't see him going to City either, although I still can't see him leaving Madrid anytime soon. He'll be there till he comes back to us (if he does leave) and then he'll head off to Portugal to finish his career (I'm sure he did say he always intended to end his career there).

It wouldnt be different if he played for us mate, I cant stand the sight of the guy. His posturing and general demeanour disgust me.

Well in a turn up for the books, I agree with a Spurs fan.

Really wouldn't want to see him playing for us, thankfully by the time he leaves Madrid he'll be too old for Wenger to consider splashing any cash his way. I'd feel exactly the same way about a number of other players, Rooney, Suarez to name just two. Players I hope never to see in an Arsenal shirt.

Nobody ever 'agrees' with a Spurs fan, just that, on occassion, points of view may seem to take a similar course.
My own opinion is enough for me, and I claim the right to have it defended against any consensus, any majority, anywhere, anyplace, anytime. And anyone who disagrees with this can pick a number, get in line and kiss my arse. - Christopher Hitchens

Who except for City would be able to afford him. Cant see this happening unless Madrid settle for a huge loss
