:astonvilla V :mancity

Aston Villa without a win in their last six home league games welcome a Man City side who will make it extremely difficult for them to stop the rot.

I think i read somewhere that Villa fans were planning a demonstration against McLeish for this game so could be a bit of abuse hurled his way. Man City to be way too strong for a lacklustre Villa team, City to breeze here 3-0

City to get an unusually comfortable away win.

Pressure already mounting on McLeish, were we the only one's that could see it was always going to end this way? :lol

Yep seems to be one of those appointments that everyone on here thought was a big mistake but in fairness all my Villa friends thought the same.

My Birmingham City friends couldn’t believe their luck when they got rid of him to their main rivals and got a big compensation payment into the bargain. :lol2

They're not doing terribly in the league, they just play such defensive football, which has normally been the case for McLeish's teams. Why is this game getting played at four on Saturday?

Can't see beyond an away win, and also can't think why Mcleish was head hunted in the first place.

Who approved these kits? Even on HD there's a clash. Both teams wearing dark shirts and white shorts.

Half an hour left, if Villa hold onto this or even grab a goal on the break then this will have been the perfect weekend of football as far as I'm concerned :D

Finished 1-0 to City.

Thought Villa would be a bit more adventurous going forward tbh.
Wigan Athletic - last on Match of the Day since 2005.

What an awfully dull game, made even more difficult to watch by the choice of kits.

A solid win, that shouldn't have been as nervy as it was at the end. We need to start being a bit sharper in front of goal, but I would take 1-0 wins until the end of the season quite happily. I dare say 12 months ago that would have been the type of game we would have drawn (in fact we lost 1-0 there last season) but we seem to have a bit more of a steelier edge to us these days.
